About This Benefit

Connecticut law fully exempts from property tax either the dwelling a permanently and totally disabled veteran owns and lives in, or if the veteran does not own a dwelling, a motor vehicle the veteran owns. Veterans with a 10% or higher may also qualify for exemptions based on age, rating, and income.

Permanently Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemption is a state benefit administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for eligible veterans in Connecticut.

To qualify, veterans must meet the following requirements: must be a resident of connecticut; requires 10% or higher va disability rating; must be rated permanent and total (p&t).
