Your Data Stays on Your Device
All information you enter into the Veterans Benefits Finder is stored exclusively in your web browser's local storage. Your profile data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. When you close your browser or clear your browsing data, your profile information is removed.
No Server-Side Storage of Personal Information
We do not operate databases that store personal information. We do not collect your name, Social Security Number, VA file number, address, or any other personally identifiable information. The benefit-matching engine runs entirely in your browser.
No Analytics That Identify Individuals
We do not use analytics tracking that identifies individual visitors. We may collect aggregate, anonymized usage statistics (such as total page views) to improve the tool, but these statistics cannot be linked back to any individual user.
No Cookies for Identification
We do not set cookies to track or identify you. The only browser storage we use is localStorage to save your benefit profile preferences so you can return and continue where you left off.
What Is Stored Locally
We use your browser's localStorage to save your responses so you do not have to re-enter them on your next visit. This includes:
- Your state of residence
- VA disability rating
- Service era selections
- Optional profile fields you have filled in
- Theme preference (light/dark mode)
How to delete your stored data: You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clicking the "Delete My Data" button on the intake page, or by clearing your browser's site data through your browser settings.
No Data Sharing with Third Parties
Since we do not collect personal data, we have nothing to share with third parties. We do not sell, trade, or transfer any user information. Period.
