About This Benefit

Pennsylvania provides a monthly pension to veterans who are paraplegic, have lost two or more limbs, or are blind as a result of military service. The pension supplements federal disability compensation.

Paralyzed Veterans Pension is a state benefit administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for eligible veterans in Pennsylvania.

To qualify, veterans must meet the following requirements: must be a resident of pennsylvania.

Why This Benefit Matters

Monthly income. Disability compensation is tax-free monthly income that acknowledges your service-connected conditions. Higher ratings unlock additional benefits and increased payments.

Reduced travel costs. Transportation benefits — including toll exemptions, reduced registration fees, and travel reimbursements — lower the cost of getting around, especially for medical appointments.
