About This Benefit

. Available when: You have a disability with anatomical losses or impairment due solely to disabilities. *If you are a Veteran with disabilities rated at 50% or more you may qualify for a Home Improvement Specially Adapted grant for a condition.

Special Monthly Compensation is a federal benefit administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for eligible veterans across the United States.

To qualify, veterans must meet the following requirements: must have a service-connected disability.

Additional factors that may affect eligibility include: must have an smc level designation (k, l, m, n, o, r, s, or t).
