Health care enrollment is a federal benefit administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for eligible veterans across the United States.
To qualify, veterans must meet the following requirements: must receive va non-service-connected pension.
Additional factors that may affect eligibility include: additional requirement: subject to income requirements; currently enrolled in va healthcare; priority groups 1-5 have enhanced healthcare benefits.
Why This Benefit Matters
Health coverage. Access to healthcare services can reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket medical costs. Preventive care and prescriptions through these programs often have no copays for service-connected conditions.
Reduced travel costs. Transportation benefits — including toll exemptions, reduced registration fees, and travel reimbursements — lower the cost of getting around, especially for medical appointments.
